International Women’s Day.
Tales have been told about them, songs written, wars fought, nations built, homes held together all because of Women! Please, can we give a hand to all the women out there; our mothers, wives, sisters, aunties, daughters, girlfriends, best-friends and every single female being. When we hear slogans like “the future is female” or “girls rule the world”, a number of impressions is formed in our heart. The rise of feminists, girl-power, women supporting women has made the female community woke, to an extent creating extremist who somewhat angers the male counterparts. Communication is a two-way street, it’s only typical for some things to be lost in translation, which leads to some party being misunderstood.
The beauty of creation is each part functioning in the office they have been put in. Women aren’t better than men and vice versa. Men aren’t bad and neither women. The easy solution is letting women be women and men, men. A study states that the Prefrontal Cortex; the part of the brain responsible for consequential/critical thinking is different in men and women. This area of the brain develops faster in the female body than the male, which when employed properly can be an asset to humanity. Both sexes are made to complement each other, recognizing one’s role and playing it out is a vital tool for success.
Today being the International Women’s Day, we are dedicating it to celebrating the women of this world; the likes of Queen Amina of Zaria, Florence Nwanzuruahu Nkiru Nwapa, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti and Margaret Ekpo of Creek town. You are special beings, with a heart so large to accommodate many and love each uniquely, strength so unrivaled, ability to adequately execute a variety of tasks at once. Resilient, beautiful, trailblazers and kind.
We end with a rewrite of this quote; “To all the strong women out there, cheers to the ones who raise us; may we know more of them, may we be them and may we raise them! Happy International Women’s Day!”
