Easy-Peasy Work out at Work

Working in the city is like running a hundred meter race where our alarms are the whistles and the race begins the moment it goes off! An average human being breezes past his home to work and slouches on the chair at work to play catch up and meet deadlines! Most of our working hours is spent at our desk, the whole working system itself encourages a sedentary lifestyle; so, we sit at our desk all day, order lunch in and download the latest gossip at the same desk during our free time and reach out for the couch the moment we get home! This routine goes on and on…and before you know it, you’re rescheduling your fitness plans to 40 years later, if you get there!
The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that 3.2 million deaths can be attributed to lack of physical activity. Chances of diabetes, heart diseases and other ailments are increased by this sedentary lifestyle “So what do you do?!” good question! Stop whatever you’re doing; of course don’t stop reading and do these simple exercise right at your desk at work! How awesome is that!!!
- Climb-the-hill
Place your hands, shoulder-width apart firmly on your table or chair if they are without rollers, lean in and stretch your legs behind you; like some “spider-man” and keep moving (walk or run) at the same spot and count to 20. Repeat the same cycle 3 times and remember do it at your own pace! This is a full body exercise and boy, if you keep up you are on a sure path to your six packs!
- Tri-cep dips
Almost like the “climb-the-hill”, place your hands shoulder-width apart firmly on your desk or chair if it’s without rollers, move your butt forward with your legs stretched out in-front of you in a slant position then strengthen your arms with a little bend in your elbows to keep the tension on your tricep, dip down slowly and bring yourself back up again, slowly and back up again. Count to ten and repeat 3 more times or as much as you can go!
- Jump rope
This is one of the easiest, just put your both legs together and jump up and down, remember the skipping rope? Exactly the same thing! You can pretend even, by swinging your arms alongside. Repeat routine as much as you can and work that body!
