How to Avoid Food Poisoning

How to Avoid Food Poisoning
August 7, 2020dailyneedadminDietMotivationFoodhealth

A few years ago, we heard of a student who when asked what food poisoning is described it as foods that we eat and die. Anyway, that’s a joke. Basically, food poisoning is an illness caused when someone consumes food contaminated by bacteria, viruses, parasites or toxins. And this state isn’t a pleasant one at all. From seeing a food you like, but being unable to eat it, to running out of an important meeting in search of the nearest loo to relieve yourself of the hot substance lurking below your belt. Whichever category you fall in, we are here with a few tips to ensure this doesn’t happen to you.

Keep a food diary

The first step to take towards this, is to get a food diary and log in what you eat. Our bodies are made different which makes us react to certain meals differently. Listen to your body after each meal and write down the reaction you got from a particular meal. That way you will learn to steer away from foods that causes you any form of harm.

Eat your vegetables and fruits fresh

Vegetables and fruits are mostly breeding zones for many food bacteria, viruses and more. Because this particular class of food is consumed in its raw state, many of those harmful bacteria/viruses are left unchecked during consumption. Especially in foods that are not so fresh. Ensure that with each purchase your foods are in their best conditions.

Wash your foods properly

Washing of foods cannot be overemphasized, especially foods that are consumed raw. There are various methods such as blanching, pasteurizing and more which can be applied to make sure all extraneous and food destroying organisms are eliminated from your food.

We hope these few tips will get you started and keep you away from all the troubles that come with food poisoning. We are rooting for you as always, do have a lovely weekend ahead!
