You are Nigeria; Own It!
October 1st 2019 marked our 59th Independence Day. This day got a lot of persons feeling all kinds of feelings. For some, it was a feeling of joy others sorrow or shame, anger even, pain while some feign total indifference! It is okay to feel all these feelings but, it isn’t okay to fold our arms and expect change at the same time. This is a call to awaken us all and position ourselves as our good country’s shield and watchman. Let these feelings be the fuel to drive you and effect our desired change.
We may not be where we want to be, but we are definitely not where we were yesterday! This phrase may be cliché, but the truth. Our disposition ought to be gratitude and do you know what gratitude does to the human mind? It takes the good around us and magnify it, makes it a lot bigger and our focus thereby diminishing the bad and ugly. Gratitude also opens up more room for the good and causes the good to thrive better. Our nation’s atmosphere is lathered with negative vibes, which may or may not be true. It is up to us to defend our nation and uphold her in the pure light of goodness and positive vibes.
As Nigeria turns 59, why not do something different for her? Choose blessing her instead of cursing, gratitude instead of complaint, peace instead of chaos, honesty instead of dishonesty. We can’t keep on doing the same bad and expecting a good outcome. Be the change you desire to see in our nation and defend her honour. Be diligent in your own sphere, don’t litter your environment, report crimes, protest in peace for your voice to be heard. Speak up and demand order, reply the mails in good time, don’t expect bribe to do your job…above all, pray for Nigeria. Own her and walk with your head up high, for Nigeria is you and you are Nigeria. You are all the help she needs! God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria! God bless the President and members of his cabinet!! God bless the citizens; home and abroad!!!
God bless Nigeria ????????
So shall it be! God bless Nigeria!!!
